Written by on October 23, 2013 in United Kingdom & Ireland with 1 Comment

Scotland

A much quieter night to come than of late and considerably cooler compared to the abnormally conditions we have become so accustomed to. A mix of cloud and clear spells through tonight with showers trimming back to the west coast. Lows 1C in rural areas under clear skies to 7 or 8C in most towns and cities.

A dry, brighter and less wet and windy day Thursday. Cooler with highs around average at 11-13C.

It turns very wet and windy again Friday with a risk of local flooding.

England

Following a rather active past few days with heavy showers and thunderstorms along with gusty winds, conditions relax tonight with clear spells and falling temperatures. Lows tonight will be coolest in some time with rural spots under clear skies dipping to 2-4C, nearer 7-9C in most towns and cities. Watch out for mist and fog by dawn.

A bright sunny day with lighter winds tomorrow, expect comfortable, above average highs of 15-18C. It turns wet and windy again tomorrow night into Friday.

Friday starts off wet and windy in the South but the worst conditions transfer north through the morning.

Wales

It’s been an improving picture across Wales and a fine end to the day with plenty of pleasant sunshine. Tonight will see largely clear skies and light winds so it turns chilly with rural areas dipping to 2 or 3C, closer to 7-12C in towns and cities.

Thursday is a much better day overall with plenty of sunshine and highs of around 14 to 16C.

It turns very wet and windy come tomorrow night and this sets the scene for the start of Friday.

Northern Ireland

A fair end to the day across Northern Ireland and with clear skies and a cooler air mass in place, it will be considerably cooler tonight with a chance of patchy frost, mist and fog. Lows of 3 or 4C, nearer 5 or 6C in the major towns.

Thursday looks decent if not at least dry. A fair amount of cloud around but it’s better than today and much better than Friday. Highs 11-13C.

Speaking of Friday, the next system swings up from the Republic bringing more heavy rain and gusty winds.

Ireland

It’s a dry, quiet night to come throughout the Republic with some mist and fog forming. Cooler than of late with lows down to between 5-10C.

Thursday looks to be the last half decent day of the next few as wet and windy weather sweeps north later tomorrow and this promises a wet and windy night into Friday. Highs tomorrow 12-16C. Expect local flooding Thursday night through the first half of Friday as rain spreads north, driven in my a strong SSE wind.
