TUE 24 SEP: UK & IRELAND REGIONAL FORECAST

Written by on September 24, 2013 in United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Scotland

It’s a damp, dreary but mild afternoon across the country with the exceptions of the Northern Isles where it’s a rather cool 10 or 11C. Little if any sunshine for most but if your in the northwest corner and perhaps along the Ayrshire coast, you may have seen some sunshine this afternoon.

The thick cloud, light drizzle, mist and even patchy fog theme continues through tonight and lows dipping back to between 10-13C, cooler in the far north but rain will pep up here and drift south overnight affecting Inverness, Moray and Aberdeenshire.

Wednesday remains cloudy and with a front sinking further south, the drizzle may turn to light and patchy rain for a time but all in all the cloudy, drizzly theme continues.

Drier, brighter and a touch cooler Thursday.

England

It’s a dry, bright and even sunny end to Tuesday over south-central parts where temperatures climbed nicely into the 20s this afternoon but head east, west and north and it’s a cloudy affair. Overnight tonight, light and patchy drizzle shall affect the north and northeast corner but again it’s cloudy with a risk of fog forming quickly after dark, especially in the northwest, west midlands and south-central parts so do please take care. Overnight lows 10-15C.

Light and patchy rain should east over the southwest during Wednesday and all in all it’s another largely cloudy day and with limited sunshine on offer, temperatures will have a hard time reaching 20 or 21C in most locales despite a warm air mass in place.

Thursday may see brighter spells in central and eastern areas but thicker cloud and possible rain may spread into western areas.

Wales

It’s not a bad end to Tuesday over much of Wales but you may catch an odd shower, especially in the west but through tonight any showers dissipate and it turns cloudy, misty and murky with dense fog expected in the Marches. Another mild one with lows of 10-15C.

Wednesday starts off cloudy, drizzly with some dense fog patches but this quickly lifts through the morning making way for a cloudy day with a few showers here and there through the afternoon but we should be a few bright or sunny spells too. Highs a touch down on today at 16 to 20C.

Thursday see showers increase from the west.

Northern Ireland

The benign but mild theme continues with a good deal more cloud today compared to the past couple of days and so temperatures have taken a knock. Tonight will see plenty of low cloud, mist and patchy fog but all in all it’s quiet and mild.

Another largely cloudy day to come Wednesday with highs of 16 to 18C.

Some light and patchy rain arrives by Thursday, turning fresher.

Ireland

Another quiet, cloudy and mild day and in any sunshine, temperatures have warmed to a very pleasant 23 or 24C. Cloudy, misty and murky tonight with overnight lows holding at between 11-15C.

Another cloudy affair tomorrow with light and patchy drizzle and in any sun it warms nicely but a touch lower than today and the past few days at between 18-21C.

Cloud thickens tomorrow night into Thursday as a front swings north bringing a chance of more appreciable rain and showers but nothing to dramatic.
