Hong Kong Territory sets new May heat record

On May 19th, the Hong Kong Territory set a new May heat record. Pretty much the entire region observed temperatures in excess of 32C with inland areas to the north exceeding 34C. Tai Po reached 36.5C which surpassed the territory’s old May record of 35.7C set in 2013 and 1991.

Two other locales exceeded the previous record, Tai Mei Tuk hit 35.8C and Chek Lap Kok Airport 35.3C according to Maximiliano Herrera.
