I think the trough in the MEANS will persist but tough to give any real detail of course this far out. Keep checking the US posts and will keep you updated. Have a great weekend!
I am going to Charlottesville, Virginia, in early August. Perhaps I need to bring my rain clothes along with me, if this pattern persists. Heavy thunderstorms in the area would not be unlikely, I believe, If this trough stays more or less in the same position. It’s peculiar to see how the pattern of a deep digging polar vortex keeps playing a role in the summer over the US.
I will certainly keep an eye on this regularly, so that I can pack the right clothes for my trip.
How likely is it, Mark, that this pattern might play a role later on into August?
