Japan observes record snow and heat on same day

When you think of extremes you think of the US. However Japan saw a wild, and wacky pattern of opposites on the very same day (April 10th).

By that I mean Shitaabaru roasted to a new April record of 31.3C while Tokyo was a very chilly 5C at 1pm.

In between, Karuizawa in the Alps recorded 15cm of snow, also an April record. While Tokyo shivered at just 5C, typically colder Sapporo was a balmy 10C.
