Spring can be the most exciting time of year weatherwise for the US. A time of big atmospheric clashes and we’ve just that thanks to cold to the north, heat to the south and a still active storm track and fast moving jet stream.
Low pressure crossing the Rockies often deepen to the east as warm and cold come together and the thermal imbalance grows ever larger over ever shorter distances. This generates pretty much all types of weather. Warm/hot, humid, flooding rain, hail, tornadoes to the south and east while cold, windy, snowy blizzard conditions to the west and north.
Here’s the GFS surface for 6z tomorrow as the low peaks in intensity.
A bit of everything, even in one place.
6 states under a blizzard warning.
Some spots are likely to see gusts exceed hurricane-force and white out conditions.
With the low feeding off an abundance of Gulf moisture, both snow and rain totals will be impressive.
Could well as an April and all-time record breaker.
#WinterStormWesley could smash not only April, but also *all-time* two-day #snow records in parts of the Plains. Here are the potential record-breaking cities: https://t.co/RvcQiDsJjI pic.twitter.com/ZA1wMJxk3S

Of course tornadoes are of a concern.
Yep there is even an extreme fire risk.
