Continued: deined to mix with our jet set allies as we functioned simply part of the local color to help them escape to luxury snow-delectable drenched Winters as if they too lived in a small country town at 8000′ in the Rocky Mts. This was back in the far away 90’s where we spent several years – mud season and all – and where our children attended local schools and all town captives hung out together to revel in snow & ice – and Summer season (AH!)
As a true Winter-hound I love all seasonal change but cold, snowy, icy winter’s more than all.
This may have something to do with the fact that I’m am a 5th generation Californian by way of frontier Fort Bragg Redwood country coast ancestors – with myself and cousins more recently Berkeley-born, San Franciscan raised adventurous types spending all possible Summers and Winters as children-young adults additionally staying with with families in high country Yosemite Continued: deined to mix with our jet set allies as we functioned simply part of the local color to help them escape to luxury snow-delectable drenched Winters as if they too lived in a small country town at 8000′ in the Rocky Mts. All part of what used to be good times in the Far West
Although living throughout the deep TX, FL, GA South for scant years at various times and experiencing “Blue Norther’s” infrequently I’ve yet to witness a real mid-South Central snow/ice storm. Nowhere to be found in garage or storage is a single snow shovel etc. And then there’s the time my husband was the one of the sole survivors from downtown Austin TX to our house by finding an old leftover pair of snow chains stowed in the back of our old blue Volvo station wagon. A laughingstock at the time but one of the only one’s to make it home, car and all, at the time.
Today we slog it through the wilds of Music Row in NashVegas with an up-and-coming singer/songwriter/guitarist Blues Rock/Country rock kid known from age 14 throughout the LA clubs and in other certain wilds of the US music wilds as the “Voodoo Child” and now still attempts,to maintain a temporary anonymity here after surviving a rare serious illness and a recharging 2nd go round career. You sure those models are for real? There must be some old rusty chains somewhere about…

LOL! Be careful for what we wish for? The local outlets, general media and US Internet seem to be relying on some mighty confused models as just about every ten minute forecast for snow/wind/cold appears to change With glee as often as possible.
Tee, hee, hee: how many snow shovels do ya’ think can be found in Nashville? Snow tires? Persons who have seen a snow tire? Drivers who have a clue as to negotiate an icy/snowy road? Anyone who can negotiate an ice covered, snow covered, unsanded, unsalted roadway/walkway at the slightest incline with dispatch?
For several years I hauled my hapless school age children, LA-Aspen commuting husband, working class (what have you, and although we diened to mix with them as friends and neighbors)definitely not jet set
