High Pressure To Dominate Western Europe The Rest Of June!

Written by on June 14, 2014 in Rest of Europe, United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

As per yesterday’s video, the weather is looking very promising indeed through the next 10 days as high pressure builds and settles westward over the NE Atlantic extending into the UK and western European mainland. This is largely down to a deep trough that’s dropped into eastern Europe which has brought welcome heat relief.

Check out the ECMWF surface charts through the next 10 days. Note the persistency of the ridge, centred just WNW of Ireland. The previous 10 days has seen a deep trough in the exact same place the core of high pressure to set to be through the next 7-10 days.

Here’s the GFS 7-day mean 500mb height anomalies through the next 2 weeks. The height field is an east to west opposite of the past 2 weeks.
