A fair amount of welcome rain has already fallen over South Texas and Louisiana and not nowhere near over yet as a developing storm centre forms over the western Gulf and lifts north. This low will draw warm, moisture rich air onto the Texas coast with a warm front. As well as the heavy, flooding rains, isolated severe thunderstorms are possible, mainly nearer the coast of both Texas and Louisiana but the front and severe threat may lift further north over Louisiana than Texas. Strong to possibly gale-force winds may be accompany this weather along the coast.

Today and tomorrow will remain messy throughout the region with a further 2-4, locally 6 inches of rain over SE Texas and Louisiana. 2-4 day rain totals may exceed 10 inches in a few spots from this.

The heavy rains will extend up through the lower and mid-Mississippi valley.
