Pacific Air Rules Next 3 Days, Then Bang, It Begins!!

Live in the Northern Plains? You enjoy the next 3 days of Pacific mild because the arctic hound is coming and will cross the barb wire fence this Thursday into Friday, starting in Montana according to the ECMWF.

As you’ll notice in the charts I’ve uploaded for you, arctic air drops into the Northern Rockies and then moves east, eventually reaching New York City and the coast by later Saturday-Sunday. How cold? Expect highs in the teens and 20s from Montana to Wisconsin on Friday with a struggle to hut 32 in Chicago. By Saturday teens and 20s for the interior Northeast and by Sunday a struggle to hit 35 in NYC and Boston, 40 for DC.

Lows should go below 5 for the Dakotas, teens for Minneapolis and Chicago, upper single digits to low 20s for interior Northeast, low 20s for Big Cities.

This movement is something worth paying attention too as it looks like these arctic shots will follow one after the other, so as that initial shot of winter sweeps out of the Plains and into the East later this week, another shot comes down with the following likely to be stronger than the first!
