SNOW/RAIN: Overnight rain, daytime showers… Rain heavier across south Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway.
Snowcover: NONE
An overnight with heavy rain, particularly across the higher ground of the Southern Uplands which combined with the precipitation falling, hillside runoff from the deep snowpack and the still frozen ground. Flooding was a major issue with road closures on the A76 between Kirkconnel and Cumnock as well as the stretch of the M74 between Abington and Happendon (a regular hard hit spot when weather is poor) Temperatures remained generally mild (compared the the past month) but around normal for time of year.
