Crazy Snow: 123″ (Near 10 FEET) In 10 Days For NY’s Tug Hill Plateau

Written by on February 6, 2017 in United States of America, Winter 2016/17 with 0 Comments

When bitter winds blow WNW across an ice free Lake Ontario, heavy, narrow bands of snow get picked up and stream into Western New York for hours, even days on end.

In the last 10 days, favoured upslope areas rising inland from Lake Ontario have seen incredible snow totals. NY’s snow famed Tug Hill Plateau region has witnessed upwards of 74″ within 3 days and 120″ within 10 days with 290″ since Nov 21.
