All evidence of last weekend’s historic snowstorm/blizzard is fading away today over the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast thanks to a surge of heavy rain and temps 10-20 above normal.
Last weekend snowfall.
Now
Anything that remains is likely to disappear over the next 36 hours as the big storm that’s hammered the Plains with snow and wind and floods, severe weather over the Mid-South is bringing a warm, wet surge up into the coastal Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today.

We have a system running up the coast Friday which may provide a glancing blow of snow along the immediate coast but into the start of next week and Monday sees a more significant low running along the Carolina coast before turning out to sea. This is followed by a fairly large clipper system which drops down over the Great Lakes and once over the OH Valley/Appalachians, a coastal low forms and this is one to watch as modelling suggests a substantial snow event for the Big Cities from DC to Boston. Boston could see a blizzard out of this.
