Tired of this cool, wet theme? Don’t fret, on the whole (except far N/W) we’ve got a more settled pattern developing for the late Wednesday through Saturday period. Unfortunately the next sizable Icelandic low heralds our next spell of wind and rain during Sunday.
Before ridging builds in briefly, we’ve got to get through today’s rain spreading NNE through Ireland, Western & Northern Britain.
This latest low did this in Florida last week…
Here’s the GFS surface through the next 24 hour period. The warm, moist air associated with this former tropical entity will bring ‘rain pulses’ of which could be heavy and thundery. It’s making for a more humid feel and where the sun shines in the east, temps will respond nicely.

As for next week, it’s all about the battle once again between low pressure to the north and high pressure to the south. Story of the summer…

So, as we head deeper into summer’s final calendar month, is there any sign of change. Change for the better that is? The simple answer is NO!
As stated time and time again, this summer overall, when weighing in the June through August period, could be coolest for Ireland and the UK since the 90s, perhaps earlier.
