Looks Like UK & Ireland May Finally Get Some True Summer Heat Next Week…

In the last 24 hours, there’s been an interesting shift in the models for next week. For several days, the models took the core of the heat into south-central Europe, however, the latest runs take the heat north further west and this signifies a very different outcome for the UK and Ireland next week.

After what’s likely to be a warm, muggy but ‘unsettled’ late week/weekend period over Ireland and the UK as our flow becomes SW while a series of fronts associated with a large low out over the Atlantic keep the spells of rain and shower activity going.

We’ve two decent areas of ‘wet weather’, one later today into Friday and another later Saturday into Sunday.

However, once those fronts pass, heights build Monday onwards and it looks like we may FINALLY get in on some true summer weather THROUGHOUT the UK and Ireland next week. Models initially kept the UK on the west side of the boundary separating the Atlantic trough and Europe high but newer runs have the high now building further west allowing all to get in on some true summer warmth.

The all-time June record of 45.2C in Spain may be threatened Sunday or Monday!
