Gone is our beloved high pressure pattern and back is the cool, unsettled trough. Going by multi runs of the GFS operational, ensemble, ECMWF and CFSv2, it appears this pattern is a true flip that’s here to stay. Certainly through the first half of May.
Be sure to watch today’s video for the discussion.

Going to keep an eye on the mid May period as there could be a flip back to above normal heights and the return of better, warmer weather. Note the CFSv2 above is showing this. This coincides with a potential ridge and warm-up pattern over the Eastern United States too.
