US: Coldest Feb/Month In History For Some, More Snow On The Way For Others…

You know by now that it’s been COLD this month. Well for 7 cities, it’s not just been the coldest February but the coldest of any month since records began and that’s pretty remarkable. We’re likely to never see another February like this one. Especially since the records which have fallen go back 70 to 100+ years.

Feb 2015 is now Denver, CO’s snowiest on record with 22.2″ breaking the old record of 22.1 set back in 1912.

Here’s the view of Denver from earlier today.

Feb 2015 was Chicago’s 3rd snowiest.

February 2015 will also go down as the month in which FOUR cities broke their all-time record low temperature.

Erie, PA -18 (tie)

Bristol, TN -13

Lynchburg, VA -11

4 out of the past 5 winter’s have averaged above normal snowfall in 4 New England sites.
