US Outlook: Next Arctic Surge To Bring More Snow, Threaten Nov Records In East!

Written by on November 13, 2014 in United States of America with 2 Comments

The current pool of bitter cold air is mighty impressive with lows reaching 34 below zero in Wyoming, 14 below in Denver but models continue to suggest a secondary push of MAJOR arctic air early next week. This time more for the Midwest, Ohio Valley and East.

There have been reports of earliest snow since 1991 around Little Rock, AR this AM and reports of snow close to DC, Baltimore, Philly and NYC this evening and something more significant appears to be on the way.

MANY Rocky Mountain and Plains locales have witnessed their coldest readings so early. Casper, WY hit 26 below zero setting a new November minimum while the 14 below in Denver tied 2nd place for coldest ever for November. The 7 below zero recorded in Goodland, Kansas this morning was the coldest so early.

It’s snowpack building time in the Midwest, Northeast.

Even within 36 hours, much of the Northeast (away from coast) turns white!

We’re talking more record cold following this snow. All-time Nov records and ‘coldest so early’ are likely to be threatened.
