Models haven’t shifted away from a ‘mini-breakdown’ in what has been a drier and warmer than normal summer so far across Scotland. The reason I focus on Scotland this morning is of course because we have the nations biggest music festival starting tonight at Ballado in Fife. T in the Park of course!
The rain moving in from the west will progress east tonight through Saturday and this will mean festival goers will need their rain coats, perhaps wellies but the good thing is, I don’t expect this to be a soaker of a weekend. Expect temps by day back into the 16-18C range, 9-12C by night and Sunday is looking drier!
Here’s the latest GFS, ECMWF charts for the weekend.
Rain moves in tomorrow… looks like some heavy pulses too.
Rain should clear out either late Saturday or early Sunday…
The ECMWF (considered more reliable) is slower with the clearing of the rain during Sunday!
The good news is, more WARM sunshine returns to the majority of the UK next week. A second consecutive ‘high pressure dominated’ summer continues!
GFS rebuilds ridge back into the UK next week before new system arrives towards next weekend.
