Increasingly cold northwest flow may present first low level snowfall of season to Northern UK by early Sunday/Mon
A windy day for all, always strongest from Cumbria northwards during Saturday and with a persistent feed of increasingly colder air from the northwest, heavy showers which rattle in will becoming increasingly wintry during tonight and into Sunday morning with snow levels dipping to perhaps near seas level by early tomorrow morning. A small covering of snow in northern towns and cities can’t be ruled out though I don’t expect any significant accummulations.
Stay tuned for more on this late today!

Heavy snow to spread across Plains into Upper Midwest with Frigid air to follow
Montana may see lows into the -30s and -40s by mid to late next week
Throughout this weekend, the trough will progress east from the West into the heart of the nation and as it does so, it will deepen. With lows forming at the base of this trough and these will push northeast towards the Lakes presenting a band of heavy snowfall from New Mexico through the central Plains up into Minnesota and Wisconsin.
On the rear, strong northwesterly winds will pull down an increasingly cold air mass from Western Canada and we will see temps continuing to fall through NEXT WEEK. By late next week, lows in MT and other areas may dip into the -30s, perhaps even -40s.
