RAIN/SNOW: SHOWERS BY EVENING
Frosty, Icy start, brilliant clear blue skies and winter sun. A gradual recovery in temperature back up to 35 degrees for a brief “peak” at 3.51pm before falling back to 33 degrees by late afternoon, before the warmer Atlantic air managed to mix down to the surface and an actual high for the day of around 40 was recorded late in the day (between 10-11pm). All in all a beautiful day with much of the day under absolute sunshine, remained crisp and varely above freezing which kept frost and ice on untreated roads up until late afternoon.
