Scotland
It’s a dry, bright, even sunny end to the day for much of the country and warmer than in recent days. Into tonight and yet another band of wind and rain sweeps in off the Atlantic with the low front associated with a low to well to the north. The worst of the conditions tonight into Thursday will be from Glasgow north, particularly the Northwest Highlands and Western Isles where winds are likely to touch gale-force out of the SW through the Minches. Lows stay mild and muggy with a lot of mist, low cloud as well as the rain, 12-14C.
Thursday starts off messy in the West and North while it’s drier, brighter the further East and South you are but staying very unsettled across the Northwest and Isles through the morning into the afternoon with strong to gale-force SW winds. Blustery for all into the afternoon but sunshine should reappear across Central, Southern and Eastern areas through the late morning. Highs of just 13C in the NW to 21 or 22C, in areas around Aberdeen thanks to downslope SW winds to the lee of the Grampians.
Warmer and sunnier for all Friday 19-22C., slight blip from the Central Lowlands north on Saturday.
England
It’s an improving end to the day with skies brightening for many early or mid evening and this sets the stage for a quiet night across the bulk of the country with another night of low cloud, mist and fog developing. Lows down to between 12-15C, feeling muggy once again.
Thursday starts off with rain nudging into Cumbria, Lancashire and eventually in a weakening fashion, this weak front will push SE’wards, bringing afternoon showers down through the Midlands and eventually pushing into the London area. Temperatures will be warm in East Anglia and the Southeast at 22-23C with sunshine, a touch fresher in the West and North thanks to the passing of the front but despite some light rain in the Far North and spotty showers elsewhere, it’s not a bad day coming up.
Friday is looking brighter with warm temperatures lifting into the 19-22C widely. Better still Saturday, setting the stage for a toasty weekend!
Wales
It’s a pleasant evening to come across Wales with lovely evening sunshine and temperatures holding up at 15-18C. Change returns once again tonight with wind and rain spreading from SW to NE which will make for a damp, dreary and blustery start to Thursday.
It’s an improving picture through the morning into the afternoon with showers easing, cl0uds breaking and so sunshine returns for many into the afternoon. Highs of 16-21C.
Dry, fine and sunny on Friday with highs climbing into the low 20s. Saturday and Sunday sees the start of some real heat!
Northern Ireland
A fine, dry and warm end to Wednesday with highs in some spots perhaps up at 18 or 19C. Through tonight and the next weather system will increase SW winds across Ulster and rain, some of which could turn heavy overnight, will spread across West and Northwestern areas, turning somewhat light and patchy further east towards Belfast. Lows hold up tonight at 12-14C.
A decent day to come Thursday with quick clearing after those overnight rains and like today, it’s looking largely bright day with sunny spells. A touch down on today’s temperatures at 17C but into Friday and Saturday and it’s an improving, warming picture as high pressure builds. Expect low 20s Saturday, possibly mid-20s Sunday.
Ireland
It’s a pleasant evening with late day sunshine to be enjoyed for many but once again, wind and rain will spread west to east across the country overnight. However, this feature will clear quickly, being an almost overnight feature as sunshine should return Thursday morning, becoming more extensive into the afternoon. Lows tonight stay mild at 12-15C. Highs tomorrow will be a touch cooler compared to today with a brisk SW breeze. Highs of 16-18C.
Turning warmer with sunshine Friday and Saturday into Sunday turns warmer still with potential for 26C by Sunday.
