Scotland
The unsettled theme continues into tonight with today’s band spreading north of the Central Lowlands up into Aberdeenshire, however further pulses of rain will work into the South, pushing north during the overnight. Lows tonight range from 5C where skies are clearest for longest, 7 or 8C for most.
Friday is looking somewhat drier to start, however as the sun heat’s the ground, warming the lower atmosphere, expect showers to pop through the afternoon across many areas. The good news is they should be hit and miss, pushing through fairly quickly and making way again for sunshine. Highs tomorrow a little up on today at between 12-14C.
England
The heavy rain and gale-force winds of today should ease down through the course of tonight but showers will still get blown in by a stiff southwest breeze, albeit not as strong as today. Tonight won’t be a cold one with lows no lower than 6-7C, some may hold in double figures.
Friday is looking fairly decent from the South Midlands down towards the South Coast with lengthy spells of uninterrupted sunshine and here is where the warmest temperatures should be. Highs may top 17-19C in some areas. From Birmingham on north, while there should be sunny spells, showers will come and go. Highs should range from 12-15C.
Wales
It’s been a wild day across Wales with frequent and heavy rain blown in on a very strong SW wind which has saw gusts clock at least 67 mph over Snowdonia but widely 40-50 mph. Through tonight and it’s looking very showery with winds continuing to blow, although they should ease slightly through the night. Lows no lower than 6-8C tonight.
Friday is looking slightly better than today but it’s very much a sunshine and showers regime. Winds will remain fresh, gusty at times out of the SW. Highs tomorrow will range from 9-14C.
Northern Ireland
Conditions should briefly settle down through tonight as a clearer slot pushes across the country. Lows may fall away towards 3-4C in the clearest, most sheltered areas, however another band of rain will advance from the southwest through Friday morning, but as this band crosses the country, it should break up with the rain becoming showery.
Through Friday afternoon, it should become sunnier but sunshine showers will disrupt any decent spells of sunshine. Where the sun manages to break out, highs in some spots may push 14 or 15C.
Ireland
It’s been an unsettled day across the Republic and unfortunately there’s no great change over the next several days, although we should see at least sunny spells through Friday. As for tonight, it becomes a much showerier picture with a strong SW wind with gales continuing to affect many parts. Lows stay mild tonight at 6-9C.
Friday will see sunshine for most but that sunshine will be interrupted by heavy, blustery showers which may be thundery with hail mixed in. Highs tomorrow will be cool at 10-15C.
