Scotland
The pattern will remain settled right through this Easter weekend thanks to a cold high continuing to build down from Norway. This will provide plenty of sunshine and dry conditions by day and with lighter winds, temps will respond to 6 or 7C, cooler at 2 or 3C where snow remains on the ground. While daytime temps may be comfortable without the wind, nights with clear skies and light winds will continue to be very cold for the time of year and you’ll notice the sharp drop after sunset. Tonight temps should dip to between 0 and -3C in towns/cities, -3 to -6C in rural parts, -10C over snow cover.

England
After a pleasant and much brighter day today, these clear skies will make way for another very cold night to come with lows widely dipping to freezing or below in towns/cities, -3 to -5C in rural parts and where snow lies, don’t be surprised to see -8 or -9C. Conditions will remain settled across the bulk of England throughout the Easter weekend thanks to high pressure. The exception will be a damper southwest corner as Atlantic moisture tries to spread into Devon and Cornwall. This may provide light snow across Dartmoor.
For both Sat and Sun, expect largely bright or sunny skies and in the lighter winds, temps should ‘warm’ to 6 or 7C, still below normal for the time of year. It will be closer to 2 or 3C where snow remains on the ground.
Several more cold, frosty and potentially icy nights to come all the way into next week.
Wales
A mostly clear and cold night to come with a widespread frost with lows down to between 0 and -2C in towns and cities, -4C in rural areas, perhaps -6 or -7C over snow covered ground.
Saturday is looking much like today with plenty of dry and bright weather and where sheltered from that easterly breeze, it will feel comfortable at 6 or 7C, cooler in the breeze as well as where snow lies.
Looking much the same for Easter Sunday following another cold and frosty start. Staying cold through much of next week.
Northern Ireland
The lengthy cold spell continues to show no signs of waning across Ulster as well as the UK mainland and just like the past several nights, it will be mainly clear and cold tonight with a widespread frost. Lows down to -1 or -2C in towns.cities but over snowcover it may dip to -6 or -7C.
Saturday will be another very pleasant day in terms of sunshine and dry conditions and where the winds tend to be lighter, you will feel the warmth of the late March sun with highs of 7C, closer to 3C over snow. Easter Sunday is looking mainly fine, dry and settled and much like today and tomorrow.
Staying cold into next week.
Ireland
Conditions remain very settled across Ireland with a still cold easterly flow drawing continental air across the country. Under clear skies across many areas tonight, another frost is likely with lows of between 1 and -3C. Thanks to that strong March sun, Saturday’s temps should rise towards 8C in spots where winds tend to be light. Another cold, frosty night tomorrow evening into Easter Sunday and Sunday looks to be much a little cloudier, especially in the south.
