Scotland
After a rough overnight and first part of today, conditions have greatly improved across Scotland with even some glimmers of brightness appearing this afternoon. Winds remain fresh to strong with coastal gales but all in all it should be a dry night with temperatures holding up near at near 10C.
The next batch of wind and rain arrives through the early hours of Tuesday morning from the south, so another spell of messy weather is upon us with a risk of further flooding as another inch of rain may accummulate. However like today, following a wet and blustery morning, conditions should improve through the afternoon. Staying mild with the southerly flow with highs of 12-14C.
England
Today has been a messy day across the board with a lot of cloud and persistent rain, especially in western and southwestern parts as well as up aginst the upslopes of the Pennines while elsewhere there has been and will continue to be outbreaks of rain accompanied by a stiff southwest wind.
While rains clear east through tonight, it takes no time at all till yet another band of potentially heavier rain and stronger winds spreads into the Southwest from the south. By dawn, the heavy and persistent rains will affect all of western and central England and with these rains come a strong to gale-force south wind. As Tuesday wears on the rains work east along with the strongest winds and the front responsible, will ease.
Temps remain mild tonight and tomorrow with lows of 7-11C, highs 12-14C.

Wales
After a wet and windy day throughout Wales with some easing through the later part of this afternoon, it should turn dry for most during the first part of tonight, winds remain blustery from the south. However, this dry slot doesn’t last long and the next batch of rain returns with a vengence during the second half of the night. Winds crank up again and gales will whistle along the west and south coast.
Tomorrow morning will be wet and windy but by the afternoon rains turn less organised, breaking up and turning more scattered like today. The southerly flow will keep things mild with lows tonight no lower than 7C and highs tomorrow will top 12-14C.. Expect gusts between 50-60 mph along the coast later tonight and especially tomorrow morning.
Northern Ireland
Following a wet and windy morning, conditions have improved through this afternoon with just an odd blustery shower here and there. Tonight looks fine with a breeze blowing out of the south but by daybreak tomorrow another batch of wet and windy weather advances from the south. Tuesday morning looks wet with the potential for local flooding. Winds could touch gale-force along the Channel coast but rains ease through the afternoon. Lows tonight stay mild at 6 to 8C thanks to the cloud, breeze and southerly flow, highs tomorrow, like today rise to 12-14C, well above average for the time of year.

Ireland
A largely cloudy but dry afternoon for most of Ireland with the exceptions of an odd shower, gives way to a largely fine and dry night, staying cloudy and with a south wind, it stays mild at 8C or higher,
Through the second half of the night, a band of heavy and persistent rain sweeps up from the south and this could present parts of southern and eastern Eire with 50+mm of rain over a 12 hour period commencing at 1am tomorrow. As well as the heavy, persistent and at times torrential rains, a gale will batter the south and east coast with gusts topping 60 mph. Even inland southern parts may see gusts top 40 mph.
Tuesday morning could start off rough but as the day wears on, the rains clear and brightness may follow behind, winds should ease later in the day too. Highs will top 12-14C.
