[notice] THE ABOVE HEADLINE ILLUSTRATES THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WHICH PROVIDES YOU CLEAR, EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND ACCURATE INSIGHT & KNOWLEDGE INTO MEDIUM, LONG RANGE FORECASTS &  POTENTIALLY PROBLEMATIC WEATHER APPROACHING. WEATHER WHICH COULD AFFECT YOUR LIFE, PROPERTY OR BUSINESS. YOU RECIEVED PRIOR WARNING OF THE AMOUNT OF RAIN EXPECTED FROM THIS LATEST SYSTEM AND SO BY KNOWING HOW MUCH RAIN COULD FALL, ALLOWED YOU TIME TO ALTER YOUR PLANS IF NEED BE, EVEN PROVIDING YOU WITH THE KNOWHOW OF CHECKING YOUR LOCAL RIVER LEVELS. THIS MORNING’S RADIO 4 REPORTER & BBC WEATHER CENTRE SEEMED SURPRISED THAT RIVERS HAD BURST THEIR BANKS WITH 100MM OF RAIN, YOU DIDN’T! [/notice]

Days ago, I made mention of the concern I had for widespread flooding due to the amount of rain coming. In my forecast I gave 2-3 inches, with locally 4 for Friday across Cumbria, Lancashire and down towards Greater Manchester. All areas greatly affected including Manchester City Centre which was mentioned in my forecast! This amount of rain within a 24-hour poeriod would naturally cause problems, especially in hilly areas with rivers cutting through. It was made clear the high risk of significant problems across Northern England. So, when switching on the radio this morning to hear of as many as 500 homes flooded across Lancashire and West Yorkshire severily affected by flooding caused by rivers bursting their banks was no surprise.

This is one of the benefits and upper hands you have as a subscriber. I aim to provide you with medium and long range forecasts which are accurate and can have the ability to help you plan accordingly. The weather of late can cost you money either due to burning extra fuel when having to re-route due to road closures caused by flooding or your having to claim insurance due to water in your house. Perhaps you’ve had to go home early from a caravan holiday to the Lake District due to poor weather. By finding out weather 7-10, even 20-30 days in advance can safe money and time. It’s important to have advanced warning of potential impacts from nasty weather and unfortunately we do not get that from our television, radio or papers. Just hype or misleading information. If you depend on the BBC then you find out either the night before or after the fact, when it’s too late. Certainly those poor folks having to leave their homes overnight found this out first hand.

I aim to provide you with vital information which includes ‘potential impacts’ which could allow you time to make preventative measures before you have to dig into your pockets whether it be related to an upcoming holiday, drive into work or a day out with the family.
