The trough remains in place over the Northeast but it’s days are numbered as the next Pacific storm roars into the Northwest Friday bringing yet another reinforcing shot of autumnal chill, rain and mountain snows, this atmospheric shove will help raise heights further east and will force a ridge back into the Northeastern part of the country, finally!
Yes, for you folks up in the Pacific Northwest, it’s been a tough ride with a winterlike jet and actice storm train. More like winter, not early summer.
Today will once again see more severe weather likely breaking out from Colorado north through Wyoming and into Montana right where the trough meets the hot air surging northwards. It will be the same general area struck yesterday which could see more big storm again today.
Showers and storms roam the Gulf Coast once again with more heavy, tropical rains impacting South Florida.
In between the trough in the NW, storminess along Gulf coast, we have heat extending from the Deserts up and around the trough and this will pump mid-90s into the Dakotas tomorrow. By Saturday may could see 90s for Chicago, Detroit and Cleveland as ridging spreads east. The next storm pushing into Washington/Oregon will aid in bringing back those 80s across the Northeast tomorrow, upper 80s by Sunday and perhaps low 90s from Washington to Philadelphia. I am a little unsure about New York whether you folks see 90 as I have a feeling ocean breezes may keep Central Park below 90.
This weekend sees a severe weather risk extend from eastern Montana, through the Dakotas and into the Lakes while heights are too strong further south and so the atmosphere should be mostly capped, keeping the storminess across the far north and along the Gulf Coast.
