Wet & Windy Day Across Ireland, N.I, NW England & Scotland, Staying Drier For Much Of Cent, S. England, Warming Trend Starts Today
It’s most certainly a wet and windy start to the workweek here across Scotland as well as much of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Northwest England where some of the heaviest rains set move through this afternoon. Watch out for some localised flooding through Dumfries and Galloway down into Cumbria and Lancashire where 1-1.5″ of rain may fall.
From Greater Manchester south through the Midlands and into southern England it should stay mostly dry following a bright and cold start. Everywhere will be mild with highs 9-13C across the board.
In the coming days that warming trend will continue with 14C tomorrow even up across Morayshire and by Wednesday through Friday, while the air turns cooler with lower heights across Scotland, our eyes watch the thermometer from Cumbria southwards as a pronounced southwesterly flow at all levels of the atmosphere should force warming temperatures which may soar to the warmest levels since November. At this time I am calling for a widespread area of 13-15C from east Wales across much of England with a localised 17 to 18C possible. Warming can also be helped when areas of located just south of the jet stream and south swinds are stacked from top down. These winds can also warm the air further than expected when soils are drier than normal and also with downsloping off hills. My favoured locations for such mild temps are areas northeats of the Cotswalds or even the Pennines (east Midlands). It would certainly be quite exceptional for February in the UK.

>We are very proud to have Mark Vogan as a weather forecaster with firsthandweather.com Mark is a very smart forecaster. He does a fantastic job for us in the United States. We have people on our site like Joe Bastardi and Piers Corbyn. Mark would not be on there if he did not know his stuff. He does. Thanks for your hard work, Mark! Sincerely, Len R. Holliday FirstHand Weather
>if you guys dont like it why dont you go elsewhere? who cares how accurate mark has been? It is a hobby and he doesnt make any money from this, its not his job! Mark has never claimed to be a professional. Have you lot never heard the saying if you cant say something nice dont say anything at all? If you dont like the blog you know where the door is, there is plenty of us who get a real pleasure out of the hard work Mark does so why dont you piss off so we can enjoy it without your negativity spoiling it.

>Hiya Mark Vogan Weather & Climate
personally I don't think you should forecast for the USA and Europe, i mean why forecast for there when we all live in the UK and us UK and Irish folk don't give a toss what happens outside of our shores. just stick to britain and ireland only, don't worry about USA, they have accuweather, weatherbell and many other weather organisations = huge competition and they're all professional, so who are they gonna listen to and take seriously?? i'm not being funny, but just stick to the UK, the UK wanna know bout the UK weather and not the USA and Europe.
just a bit of advice mayte
>Mark,
I agree with Tony, you've made several rookie mistakes and I think it's time to finish the whole process of Weather forecasting. I'm not being funny, but you're inaccurate more often than not. Leave it to the professionals that know what they're doing. This isn't a personal attack m8, but you could spend the time better, rather than waste it forecasting when nobody really takes notice.
Sorry about that m8
>What a load of bollocks mr know it all. You can't predict the weather to save your life. You were adament of severe cold and snow from Christmas onwards – didn't happen, then you extended it to Jan, then to Feb 20th onwards – didn't happen either. This is my opinion, but you talk out of your arse and you should stop doing the weather as you aren't a professional and you are inaccurate most of the time. I apologise for this, but it's my opinion, just give up the Weather, you're wasting a lot of your time, which could be better spent!
Again, I'm sorry about this, but it's just my opinion.
Regards
Tony Williams
