SNOW/RAIN: Off and on flurries
Snowcover: None here locally and across Glasgow, but 1-2 inches across higher ground of Ayrshire and Lanarkshire
A day which stayed very cloudy with a cool breeze making it feel at or below freezing. It was very much a bleak, mid-winters day with the off and on flurries.

SNOW/RAIN: A band of snow which moved in overnight continued bringing snowfall across the central belt and the southern uplands throughout the morning hours bringing a fresh 1″ covering here, reviving a snowpack here and adding a further 1-2″ over the higher ground of Ayrshire and Lanarkshire.
Snowcover: 1″
The higher terrain of South Lanarkshire from Lesmahagow to Abington and down into Dumfries and Galloway saw a further 1-3 inches added to an already 2-4 inch snowpack. High snow drifts also remain between Happendon and Abington services along the M74. Earlier this morning between 4-6am some sections of the southbound M74 was reduced to one lane with snow covering two lanes. Snow continued falling from 1-2am this morning till the early afternoon.
Warmer air is expected tomorrow and we are expected to see the first 40-degree air ssince Dec 17!!
