>Todays Extremes here at my house
High 29 degrees 6.23pm) Low 21 degrees (9.34am)
SNOW: Moderate to heavy and persistent snowfall from around 2pm till 5-6pm)
Snowcover: 4″
A morning which remained mild with temp hovering around 30 degrees even at 3.05am this morning but as skies cleared out, temperatures fell markedly thanks to snow on the ground and it’s ability to release heat back to space fast. Low was late in coming but fell off to 21 degrees after the weak sun rose over a crisp, icy horizon. 3-way tie to lowest reading of season. A colder day overall with lowest high of season of only 29 degrees. The low and high is likely to be well beaten with colder levels tonight and tomorrow. A heavy band of snow first arrived into the Ayrshire coast late this morning and this band progressed across to the Glasgow area and on east as this afternoon progressed making for difficult driving conditions. The persistent ice issues conditions with this current pattern. The coldest night is in progress.. High tomorrow may fail to warm above 28 degrees after a morning low of 17 degrees.

    >After a – 7 degrees C evening, during this morning, a heavy band of snow pushed south covering all of Fife and Lothian with a 4 – 6 inch coating of snow. At 4.30 am the conditions resembled that of a blizzard outside my bedroom window. The road and rail networks are slowly returning to normal, however I have avoided the commute due to the many hours it would take to get to work. My friend Dishonest D spotted a robin on his garden fence. I'm not sure if Batman was with him or not. I hope your lorry is not stuck in snow. Warmest Regards, MethilJock.
