Every day of meteorological summer has seen at least somewhere within the UK reach 30C, that’s except for 13th June, just a single day.
As a lobe of very warm air lift north aboard a building ridge, this afternoon provides an opportunity for UK weather history to be made if we see somewhere crack 30C.
Most models are shooting for between 28-29C and in fact the projected temperature for today has dropped slightly.
I believe somewhere between Birmingham, Bristol and London, a top temperature of 29.2C will be reached which fails to reach the famous 30C barrier but breaks the date record of 28.3C.
All eyes on temperature as today is the only day in the UK meteorological summer calendar in which we've never seen 30C! Date record is 28.3C. I'm going with 29.2C this afternoon… pic.twitter.com/irJV5zt67z

Tomorrow may have a better shot at 30C but indeed the 14th June has featured 30C before, the significance would be that it’s our first 30C of the year.
