For the past two days, Southern California has baked in exceptional late October heat thanks to strong Santa Ana winds blowing off the desert.
The sun is back up this morning with the potential for a 3rd straight 100-degree day for Downtown Los Angeles.

Here’s the setup causing the heat and enhanced fire risk.

Santa Ana’s and heat is typical of this time of year but the heat is excessive with long standing records melting all over the Southland.
Warm by day but also overnight as the hairdryer-like winds can either hold or raise the temperature.

Yesterday’s 104 degree high in Downtown LA broke the 99 degree record set way back in 1909 and it was also the hottest for so late in the year!
