Beneath the core of the Denver to Charlotte high pressure zone it’s been steamy and for some stormy, but the strongest storms packing severe weather continues to run the northern periphery and these storms is slicing the heat across the Dakotas, Minnesota into the Great Lakes and Northeast.

Storms continue to fire along the jet racing across the Northern Tier.

As we progress through this week, the ridge core re-establishes back over the southern Rockies and builds ENE driving a fresh surge of 90s across the Plains and Ohio Valley all the while a system develops off the Mid-Atlantic and looks poised to bring a multiday wind and rain event from Richmond, VA up Massachusetts. Cooler air from this offshore feature drives fresher air down through the Carolinas and Georgia.
