We end spring and begin summer opposite of what you’d typically expect with Belfast and Glasgow enjoying sun and low 20s C whereas it’s cool, cloudy, breezy and wet in London and Paris. A strong near 1040mb high between Scotland and Iceland is ruling the North/West UK but low pressure over Germany is making for a very different look and feel across the bulk of England and Wales as well as France where it’s been particularly miserable.
Yesterday Europe temperature anomaly greatly reflects where it’s been sunny and warm and where cloudy and wet, note N France.

Paris is entering summer on the opposite note to last year when it was warmer and drier than normal. It’s been so cloudy and wet here, May 2016 goes down as wettest in recorded history with the River Seine overflowing in parts of central Paris.

Huge contrast yesterday over the UK. What a difference cool onshore wind, cloud and rain verses sunshine makes on temperature at this time of year.

Paris Unlikely To Enter Drier Pattern In June
This evening I want to primarily cover forecasted precipitation through June and it’s interesting how a dry NI and Scotland joins the rest of the UK and France in a wetter theme. No end to the cool, wet pattern for France. This is likely to be quite a different summer to last year!
