Tonight is likely to be the coldest yet for England, Wales and next 2 nights from the Netherlands down through parts of France and Spain thanks to a chilly high between fronts. Cold hollows over Spain’s central plateau and mountains could see -15C or lower, especially Wednesday morning. Cold hollows within the Alps could approach -30C.

The core of cold is already pushing southeast with Scotland’s coldest morning yesterday, England and Wales tonight then the western continental mainland Wed.

The front pushing down over Scotland, England and Wales Tuesday/Wednesday could bring snow even to low levels thanks to cold ahead, behind and along the front.
