The wild and exciting winter pattern we have currently and particularly in the upcoming 7 days supports the idea that yesterday’s surprise South Texas, Louisiana snow may not be the last. In fact a bigger event may be coming next week according to some of the models as the deepest trough of winter dives all the way to the Gulf Coast. I explained the possibilities on the table for how this may come about in yesterday’s write-up and video but today I want to show you what the very latest models are showing. While the GFS is unenthusiastic about a far South snow event, the NAM and ECMWF remain with the idea.
Here was the scene out of Leesville, Louisiana yesterday morning. This could well be repeated next week. unpredicted or extremely rare back to back snow event within a week?

The next two clipper systems now through Monday should deliver a widespread 1-2″ across the Upper Midwest, Lakes and Northeast before the hammer of arctic air comes crashing down.
