TUE 28 MAY: UK & IRELAND REGIONAL FORECAST

Written by on May 28, 2013 in United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Scotland

A fine end to Tuesday for much of Scotland except for areas such as the Southwest for a time before rain clears out into the Channel later in the evening. A dry night to come for the majority with pockets of clear skies which may present some mist and fog patches where rivers run. Not a particularly cold night with lows down to 5-6C.

Wednesday looks to be a mixed bag with a distinct west-east divide. The best of the brightness and warmth will be over western areas while it’s cloudy, damp and drizzly in the East. Highs will warm nicely towards 18 or 19C in the sunnier West but a dissapointing 12-13C in the cloudier East.

England

It’s a wet end to your Tuesday across central and western parts of England with an arm of rain extending from Suffolk through Nottinghamshire towards the Midlands which may linger through much of the night and may drop a fair amount of rain. It’s drier north and south of this fairly narrow rain band. Some patchy rain over the South will spread west overnight and while it’s dry for a time, the Southwest turns wet later on making for a wet start to Wednesday. The North shall remain largely dry. Lows tonight range from 5-9C.

Wednesday is looking rather dissapointing up and down the Eastern side of England with damp, dull weather pushing in off the North Sea. We’ll also see rain clouds developing over the Midlands and even down towards London through the day. The best of the brightness and warmest temperatures will be confined to the West. Highs range from 11C in the rain to perhaps 19 or 20C in the sunnier spots.

Wales

It’s a wet start to the night across much of the country but that rain after being pretty heavy and persistent up until dark shall clear overnight with showers following behind. Lows of 7-9C.

Wednesday should start off mainly dry and this will set the stage for a much better day on offer with decent spells of bright or sunny weather and those temperatures will respond nicely. Highs of 16-19C.

Northern Ireland

Following showery afternoon, things settle into the evening before rain spreads in from the Channel through the night. This may bring a few hours of moderate to at times, heavy rain from east to west but this band should clear to the south overnight. Lows range from 5-8C.

Wednesday should start of on a drying note following the overnight rain and it should be a pleasant day ahead with plenty of prolonged bright or sunny spells. It should feel pretty warm in that sun with highs reaching 16-18C.

Ireland

It’s an afternoon of sunshine and sharp showers for much of Ireland but conditions should settle into the evening. However, a band of rain spreading west across the Irish Sea will push into Northeast counties overnight and may push into the Dublin area but this feature weakens and clears before dawn. Drier in the West overnight. Lows of 6-8C.

Wednesday is looking like a terrific day to get out and about and enjoy some rather warm weather. It’s a day of sunshine mixed with fair weather clouds, low risk of an odd pop up shower. Highs shall respond very nicely in the sunshine with highs of 16-19C.
