The Weather Channel
A major snowstorm and backlash blizzard is unfolding across the Dakotas. While 1-3 inches will fall across a large swath of Montana and the Dakotas, the core of heaviest snows will fall across central Minnesota eastwards into Wisconsin. From the north Minneapolis suburbs up towards the Duluth area as much as 6-14 inches of snow can be expected and with even the slightest southward shift in track, over 8-10 inches could well fall within the Twin Cities Metro.

The less snows further west is due to the core of moisture being further east and while only a few inches is expected across the Dakotas, it’s the powerful north winds which will present blizzard conditions.

While gales blowing along with the heavy snow, temperatures will crash as arctic air over Canada gets pulled south with the circulation. The wind, snow, bitter cold and blizzard conditions will continue through today and tonight.
These are the current temperatures.

The Weather Channel
Here are the current wind chills.

This system will not only significantly increase snowcover across the Northern Tier and down the Rockies where as much as 3-6 inches of snow may accummulate in low elevation areas, 6-12, locally 18 inches over the higher elevations, but the snow will help moderate the southbound arctic air from moderating less.
Highs will faily to hit zero in parts of the Rockies and Dakotas today.
Will have an update later today..
