Back in June, the Spanish captial of Madrid soared to the hottest levels since August 2007 with a high of 104° (40°C) which was recorded in the midst of a 3 day stretch of 100s. The hottest in July was 95° (35°C).

Hottest in years

Over the next 4 days highs should surpass the century mark and will likely surpass the hottest levels of summer. I am shooting for 106°+ (41°C) on at least 2 of the next 4 days as heights climb to around 596dc with surface heights above 1028. 850 temps should reach 32°C.

While there have been a few 104s recorded in Madrid over the past 7 years, one must go back to August 2005 for the last time a high hit 105°, so it will be interesting to see if the next few days can beat the 105°. Since 2000 there was been no temperature beyond 105° and so a high of 106° would be hottest in well aver a decade in Madrid.
