More Than Half Of The United States Is In Drought, Cornbelt Disaster!

It’s now official, it’s said in a very latest report that as much as 61% of the United States is in drought and the situation worsening by the day with drought conditions expanding as well as areas entering ‘exceptional’ status over parts of Arkansas into the lower Ohio Valley. One could blame the heat of not just June or July so far but the warm, dry spring overall from the Central Rockies to Ohio Valley. Things aren’t going to improve anytime soon as the next several days, while soaking over South Texas and throughout the Southeast, it remains mostly dry across the areas of the Nations Heartland which need the rain the most.

The core of powerful high pressure and extreme heat has been parked directly over the Cornbelt and this has meant any storms which erupted around the ‘ring of fire’ we’re outwith and so field upon field of precious crop become drier and drier and drier until there’s no crop remaining.

This ever worsening situation could and will have far reaching, devastating affects on a massive scale. This will not only greatly impact the American wallet but possibly the world’s too.

A third of the nations corncrop is in poor to very poor condition, beef prices may rise by 10%

It’s said that 1 third of the nations corn crop is considered to be in poor to very poor condition and this is driving market prices up to $7 a bushill, more than double the normal. Ranchers have been forced to sell their cattle as they’ve nothing to feed off of. This could force beef prices 10% higher.

As you can see from the below precipitation forecast map, the heaviest of the rains remain east of the worst affected drought areas, the areas which most need it.
