January does a 360 on Northeast: Coldest open to least snow since ’03, Frigid Feb on the way?

What a wild January for the Northeast and much of the country. From coldest opening week of a New Year since records began to least amount of snow cover for final week of January since 2003 and 2nd lowest since records began 15 years ago.

It was a truly memorable first half to January 2018 with EVERY state snow covered on the 18th and the Deep South enjoyed not 1, 2 but 3 snowstorms in 5 weeks.

For the Northeast the final week of January saw least amount of snow cover since 2003 according to Eric Fisher.
