Record October snow & cold penetrates all the way to Texas, Tennessee

The end of October 2017 US cold wave has been impressive but interestingly there’s been little mention of this in the media.

October 2017 joins only 43 other October’s since 1884 for measurable snow in Minneapolis. Only 0.1 inches fell at the airport (city’s official station) but it’s the first measurable October snow in 8 years.

The 10.6 inches which fell in Duluth set a new 24-hour October record. The previous record of 10.0 inches was set back on October 23, 1933.

Chicago saw snow flakes fly too.

Even the Smokies!

Arctic air dove south all the way to Texas in the wake of the early season snow system.

Cold as it was in Aberdeen, SD at least it wasn’t 1925!

Another cold punch is on it’s way Monday night into Halloween morning.
