Despite being in the midst of an above normal water year, Seattle is witnessing it’s driest summer on record with day after day of hot smoke filled air. The city has comfortably set a new record with 52 days without measurable rain.

The lack of rainfall has aided in providing Seattle with it’s hottest opening 10 days to August in over 120 years with an average temperature of 88.1 degrees.

Yesterday also marked the 12th consecutive 80 degree day, 3 off the record.

The dry and hot pattern is now breaking with cooler, moister air streaming in off the Pacific.
