A severe thunderstorm generated a downburst of wind through Moscow, Russia on Monday. Winds gusting over 70 mph caused significant damage and killed up to 16 people, mainly from falling trees and airborne debris. It’s said to be the most deadly storm to hit the Russia capital in over 100 years and strongest in 19 years.

A similar storm struck the city back in 1998 killing 8-11 people but with the death toll up to 16, this is one of the deadliest ever.
