Endless summer continues east of the Rockies while pulses of colder, fall-like air brings more snow and a step ever closer to winter in the West. Meanwhile both Southwest and Northeast get help from the tropics with much needed rainfall.
GFS indicates 1-2 FEET of snow for parts of Montana, Idaho and Wyoming over the next 6-10 days. These systems pushing into the West continues to pump the ridge and heat further east.

80s will be widespread from the Plains to Atlantic this week with low to mid 90s for some. That’s 20-30 above normal for this time of year!

Tropics Bring At Least Some Rain To Drought Stricken Southwest & Northeast
Julia continues to spin with it’s rich tropical moisture off the South Atlantic coast. However, it’s an eastbound cold front which will help pull some of Julia’s moisture north into the increasingly dry Northeast.

Some welcome rain pushed into coastal Southern California this morning and there’s more to come over the next 36 hours with help of Hurricane Pain, a system that’s likely to limp into the Baja as a mere depression Wednesday morning.
