In Northwest Europe, water continues to plague while in the Southwest it’s fire.
Beneath the rain bearing Atlantic jet stream racing over Glasgow at 40,000ft, surface temps only mustered 12-14C but instead of a cool, moist oceanic flow from the west, Gran Canaria basically endured the opposite with east winds blowing scorching hot air straight off the Sahara across Gran Canaria and here it reached 44C yesterday.
