This system is expected to become a minimal hurricane prior to landfall on the Belize coast. Rain and surge is the primary concern.

Although situated on the western edge of one of the world’s warmest sea, since 1980 Belize has only seen a hurricane landfall 3 times. The reason is likely it’s small size and tucked in between Honduras and Mexico. The last hurricane landfall was 2010.
