Halloween Snow & Cold Heading For Eastern US

Written by on October 29, 2014 in United States of America with 0 Comments

We have a complex early winter (Halloween) storm situation developing for the Northeast with typical big variations depending on which model you look at.

It will be cold this weekend but that’s just part of the story as we’re also talking about snow and a lot of upper energy coming out of Canada which will deepen the trough and may help support snow flakes into the Big Cities. Accumulation wise, look to the higher elevations back west and north.

You can see the upper energy dropping into the east, deepening the trough. This will help cool the atmosphere beneath, bringing the significant snow to the mountains.
