Scotland
It’s a quiet end to a much quieter day with much lighter winds than of late. Skies have stayed mainly cloudy but bright or sunny spells have appeared for some and where the sun’s made an appearance, temps have risen to 18, perhaps 19C. Closer to 16 or 17C beneath the thicker cloud, a disappointing 14C in the far North with light rain.
Another quiet night to come with clear spells. Lows dip towards 5-9C by dawn with mist and fog developing over sheltered rural areas.
Wednesday is looking very similar to today with mostly cloudy skies but brightness will filter through for many. Just a slight chance of catching a shower. Highs of 16-19C.
Light and patchy rain spreads in from the West Thursday.
England
A largely clear and calm night to come with mist and fog forming within river valley, light chance of any rain. Lows tonight will dip towards 10C for most towns and cities, perhaps 4-6C in rural areas.
Wednesday should start off much like today did, with plenty of sunshine on offer. As the sun warms the land, clouds develop and so there’s a risk of an afternoon shower, particularly from the Pennines on east. The best of the drier and brighter weather will be in the West. Expect highs to warm up to between 18-21C.
Fine, dry and bright for the bulk of England Thursday with a slight shower risk in the far North. Highs of 18-21C.
Wales
After a fine, largely dry afternoon across Wales, tonight will see some light and patchy cloud roll in overnight and so temps won’t be as cold as the night just gone, where it got down to 2C, producing frost in some spots. Closer to 5-8C in rural parts, warmer in towns and cities.
Tomorrow will see sunshine reappearing through the morning after a rather cloudy, misty start and with that sunshine comes warmer temps of 18-20, locally 21C.
Mainly dry and settled to start Thursday but showers spread in later in the day. Highs of 16-18C.
Northern Ireland
Today has been an improving day after a grey, dull start with a few light showers around but through the afternoon, the sunshine appeared, making for a very pleasant end to the day. In that sun it’s fairly warm feeling at 17 or 18C with light winds.
Through tonight and clear skies mean cool temps and patchy mist and fog formation. Expect lows of 8 or 9C in towns and cities, nearer 4 or 5C in rural parts.
Wednesday is looking like the best day of the week with plenty of warm sunshine on offer. Highs of 16-18, locally 19 or 20C.
It turns cloudier again on Thursday and a touch cooler.
Ireland
Fine, dry, bright and fairly warm conditions end the day for most and those sunny skies will make way to clear, starry skies tonight. That also means cooling with mist and fog. Lows of 5 or 6C in rural parts, nearer 9 or 10C in towns and cities.
Wednesday looks very similar to today with plenty of warm sunshine on offer, though clouds bubble through the afternoon, perhaps producing an odd shower. Highs of 16-19C.
Thursday should be another fine, dry and sunny day for the majority with highs similar to tomorrow’s values.
