The main theme over the next 72 hours is a downward trend in temperature. A cloudy day may give way to somewhat of a clearer night tonight and that means a widespread frost with lows at or below freezing. Perhaps -5C or -6C in sheltered spots which have clearest skies. Tomorrow will be brighter but highs will be 1-3C off today’s values of 5-7C, any breeze makes it feel even cooler so be sure to wrap up warm before heading out. Cold night Thurs into Friday and this makes way for a fairly bright, dry day Friday but highs only reach 1-3C. Brrr!

England
A notable SE wind will make for a cloudy but cold night across eastern and central parts but in sheltered western areas, skies should be clearer and therefore a frost should form widely. Despite wind and cloud, temperatures will hit freezing. Tomorrow, like today will be dry and we should see more sunshine than today but despite that sun, it’s colder than even today was and I bet you noticed the big difference between yesterday and today in eastern areas thanks to the passing of that cold front.
Thurs into Friday is another cold night with frost and temps below freezing. Friday and Saturday may both struggle to see 2-3C countrywidewith some sheltered areas failing to hit freezing. Any snow showers will be confined to the east coast.
Wales
A cold night to come with a mix oif cloud and clear skies but despite that SE breeze, a frost should form. Highs yesterday topped 13C, today it’s closer to 9C and by tomorrow it’s only 4-5C. By Friday and Saturday, parts of Wales may struggle to reach freezing by afternoon after a frosty night. Winter returns once again!
Northern Ireland
Like over the UK mainland, NI will see a downward trend in temperatures tomorrow right through the weekend with 1-2C knocked off each day. So highs tomorrow only reach 4 or 5C, by Friday 2-3C and Saturday, some spots have struggle to get much above 1C. It stays dry, largely bright or sunny with clear skies and a frost by night.
Ireland
Cold with a mix of sun and cloud will be the theme over the next few days throughout Ireland as colder air marches east off Europe and across the UK into Ireland. Temperatures turn increasingly colder towards Saturday with night frosts dominating.
